ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Trolls got one step closer to home-field advantage for the postseason opener on Saturday, keeping pace with the CCAC leaders with a 3-1 road win over Roosevelt.
Trinity (8-4-4, 7-2-2 CCAC) got on the board in the first half, after Litzy Corona scored her tenth goal of the season in the 32nd minute to take a 1-0 lead into the break. Demi Scibetta doubled the Trolls lead in the 54th minute with a goal from 30 yards out on a free kick.
Selah Hopkins reclaimed the team lead in scoring, recording her 11th goal of the campaign in the 62nd minute. The Lakers (3-7-4, 3-5-3 CCAC) got on the board five minutes later, but Michelle Urribarri would keep Roosevelt at bay, with eight saves in the win.
The Trolls will head east for their final road match of the regular season, when they take on Indiana South Bend on Wednesday, October 26. Kickoff with the Titans is set for 4:00 p.m. CT / 5:00 p.m. ET.
