Amidon's game-winner completes comeback over Judson

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. – Overcoming a two-goal deficit, Trinity rallied to defeat the defending CCAC champs on the road, winning 3-2 over Judson on Tuesday afternoon.

The host Eagles (6-4, 4-2 CCAC) got off to a strong start, scoring in the 5th minute to take an early 1-0 lead. Despite a number of chances in response from the Trolls (6-3-4, 5-1-2 CCAC), Judson struck again in the 25th minute, taking a 2-0 lead.

Trinity broke through just before the halftime break, as Litzy Corona put the Trolls on the board with a goal in the 39th minute, assisted by Selah Hopkins.

The Trolls came out of the break firing, as Trinity out-shot Judson by a 18-3 margin in the second half. Corona added her ninth goal of the season, and her fourth in the past two matches, tying the score at 2-2 in the 54th minute with the assist coming from Olivia Andre.

Seven minutes later, Kara Amidon put the Trolls in front, scoring on Jade Maldonado's assist in the 60th minute for the 3-2 lead on her second goal of the year. The junior scored her first game-winner of the season, and her second goal in the last two matches.

The win moves Trinity up to second in the CCAC standings, three points clear of third place with five league matches remaining. Next up for the Trolls as they return to Schaaf Athletic Complex this weekend is a matchup with Holy Cross. Kickoff with the Saints is set for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8.
