PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Brianna Uhl registered her first goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as 20th-ranked Southeastern (Fla.) held onto their first-half lead as the Trolls dropped the matchup 4-1 at the Schaaf Athletic Complex on Saturday.
The No. 20 Fire (3-0) struck with a pair of first-half goals in a five-minute span, taking the early lead in the 24th minute and doubling it in the 29th. The visitors controlled the attack, out-shooting Trinity 10-3 in the first half and 19-9 overall.
Southeastern tacked on another goal after halftime, scoring in the 46th minute before Uhl's counter. The senior fired a shot off the post, then scored on the rebound to cut the deficit to 3-1.
The Fire put the match out of reach with a late goal in the 87th minute.
The Trolls will now set their sights on next week's contests, beginning on Friday, September 2, with a trip to Dubuque, Iowa. Trinity will match up with Clarke (Iowa) with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
