PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - Trinity would overcome a two-goal deficit after the visiting Governors State Jaguars would strike twice in the opening 14 minutes, as the Trolls scored four unanswered to take a 4-2 win and remain in a tie atop the CCAC standings on Saturday afternoon at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
Trailing 2-0 early, the Trolls got on the board in the 20th minute with Demi Scibetta's 11th goal of the season. In the 36th minute, Alyssa Gill would find the equalizer, taking the pass from Emily Soriaga for her second goal of the year.
In the second half, Soriaga would score the eventual game-winner, putting away her sixth goal this season in the 71st minute. Finally, Renee Vander Tuig put the match away for the Trolls with a goal with just over 90 seconds left to play.
The win extends Trinity's unbeaten streak to seven straight matches, and marks the third straight match in which the Trolls scored four goals.
The Trolls continue their CCAC title hunt on Wednesday afternoon, when they travel to Indiana South Bend. Kickoff from Lakeville, Ind. is set for 4:00 p.m.
