SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – A late goal in the final minutes put the Trolls on the board, but Trinity women's soccer were unable to finish the comeback, falling 2-1 in the NAIA Women's Soccer Championship Opening Round to Siena Heights (Mich.).
Team Leaders
• Demi Scibetta scored her 14th goal of the season for the Trolls (12-4-4) in the 90th minute, as Trinity avoided the shutout.
• Goalkeeper Michelle Urribarri made six saves on the night, and faced 22 shots overall.
• Kara Amidon picked up an assist on the goal from Scibetta, and fired the only other shot on goal for the Trolls.
How it Happened
• After controlling possession for much of the first half, Siena Heights (15-0-6) broke through with a goal in the 36th minute, scoring on the rebound after a shot came off the crossbar seconds earlier.
• The Saints doubled their lead early in the second half with a goal in the 55th minute.
• Urribarri kept the Trolls in the game after a penalty was called in the 68th minute, making the save on the play.
• Scibetta put the Trolls on the board with less than a minute to play, as Trinity quickly looked for the equalizer, but ran out of time before getting another good look at goal.
