PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Freshman Aolani Cannon led the Trolls with eight kills on Tuesday night, as Trinity Volleyball earned their second straight win with a sweep over Justice (Ariz.) inside DeVos Gymnasium.
The Trolls were in control throughout the night, winning the first two sets 25-15 and 25-16. The visitors would take an early lead in game three, leading 4-1 before kills from Raimey Owens, Cannon, and Dej'a Williams helped fuel a 6-2 run for Trinity that would give them a 7-6 lead.
Justice would respond, and hold a lead as late as 13-11, but a block from Williams and Aalyssa Gunn started an 8-2 rally for the Trolls as the home team would take the lead the rest of the way.
Gunn finished with seven kills on the night, while Mia Querciagrossa had a match-high .556 attack percentage, recording five kills on nine attempts. Sharide Sykes collected 30 assists, and Allie Boyer finished with a team-high eight digs.
The Trolls continue non-conference play this weekend when they host the Trolls Invite on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5, held in DeVos and Mitchell Gymnasiums.
