DUBUQUE, Iowa – Trinity Women's Soccer kept their unbeaten record intact after a tough road test Friday afternoon, as the Trolls scored a last-minute equalizer to escape with a 1-1 draw with Clarke (Iowa).
Team Leaders
• Senior Jade Maldonado saved the day in the 89th minute, scoring her first goal of the season and fifth of her career to even the match at one goal apiece.
• Goalkeeper Michelle Urribarri made four saves to keep Trinity in the match, as the home side out-shot the Trolls 13-7 on the day.
How it Happened
• Clarke (2-0-2) struck first in the 19th minute, scoring off a corner kick after a Pride header was saved by Urribarri. Trinity would manage just two shot attempts before halftime as Clarke controlled possession.
• The offense started to gain momentum in the second half, with five shots taken after the break. Maldonado's goal came with just 68 seconds on the clock as the Trolls came away with the draw.
Match Notes
• The draw is the third in the past three years between the Trolls and Pride; both sides played a scoreless draw at the Schaaf Athletic Complex last season, following a 2-2 draw in Dubuque in 2022.
• The Trolls have an eight-match unbeaten streak over Clarke, with their last loss to the Pride coming in 2013.
