Trinity Volleyball falls in CCAC Tournament at #16 Viterbo

LA CROSSE, Wisc. – The Trolls nearly overcame a slow start, but Trinity Volleyball would close out the 2025 season on Thursday night, falling in four sets to No. 16 Viterbo in the CCAC Tournament Semifinals, 25-16, 25-14, 22-25, 26-24.

Dej'a Williams and Sarah Neighbors led the team with ten kills apiece, while Sharide Sykes recorded a double-double on the night, with 18 assists and 13 digs. Jorieliss Caraballo led the defense with 17 digs.

Tied 14-14 midway through the first set, Viterbo would pull away, scoring eight in a row to go in front 22-14 on their way to the opening game win. The V-Hawks would take the second set after opening with a 6-0 lead and remaining in control the rest of the way.

Looking to extend the match, Trinity rallied from a 17-14 deficit, forcing three straight errors to tie the game. A kill from Sykes followed by three more V-Hawk errors would give Trinity the 21-19 edge, and kills from Raimey Owens and Aolani Cannon closed out the win for the Trolls.

A back-and-forth game four would see Trinity take a late lead with a three-point rally, thanks to kills from Williams and Neighbors, followed by a block from Williams and Makenzie Ritsema, to go ahead 20-19. Viterbo answered with three straight points, and would later secure match point at 24-22. A kill from Sykes, and an attack error would tie the game at 24-24, but the home team would score the last two points to close out the night.

Trinity Volleyball finishes the season with a 14-16 record, recording the most wins in a season since 2020.
