MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Trinity Volleyball picked up their fourth win in the last five matches on Tuesday night, as the Trolls picked up a sweep on the road at CCAC newcomers Mount Mary, 25-15, 25-14, 25-9.
The trio of Sharide Sykes, Dej'a Williams, and Sarah Neighbors led the attack with six kills apiece, with Sykes registering a .857 attack percentage (6-0-7) along with a team-high 11 assists. Neighbors and Gianna Dimundo each served up four aces, while Williams, Makenzie Ritsema, and Aolani Cannon tied for the team lead with four blocks apiece.
The Trolls got off to a slow start as the host Blue Angels scored four in a row to start the match. A block from Williams and Cannon started a 10-0 run in response, and the Trolls would stay in control throughout the rest of the opening set.
Mount Mary would briefly take a lead early in game two, 4-3 before Trinity took over again. A four-point run beginning with Alexis Bartz's ace put the Trolls back in front, and another 8-1 run later in the set extended Trinity's advantage.
Game three was all Trinity, as the Trolls opened with a 13-1 lead that included three aces from Neighbors.
The Trolls will go for three in a row on Thursday, when they continue their three-game road swing at Indiana South Bend. First serve with the Titans is set for 6:00 pm CT.
