All-around effort leads to win over Crimson Wave

Box Score

The Trinity women's volleyball team had a one-week hiatus from games, and tonight, they were back on the court at the DeVos Gymnasium. In this match, they took on the Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave, who the Trolls swept in three sets.

The first two sets were steals for Trolls, whose offense was too much to handle for the Crimson Wave. This led to a score of 25-7 in both sets, with each in favor of Trinity.

In the third set, Calumet put up a fight. Trinity took the lead early, but the Crimson Wave fought back, almost tying the game multiple times. It wasn't until a run at the end for the Trolls that brought them to victory, defeating Calumet 25-19.

Leading the way for the Trolls tonight was junior Britta Heggeland. She finished the night hitting .786 (11 kills, 0 errors, 14 attempts), which is the highest kill percentage she's had so far this season.

Junior Brianna Figueroa led the backrow defense, securing 13 digs, while senior Dani Van Laten tallied the most assists with 11. Senior Juliana Dykstra andfreshman Emma Huisman also both had nine assists on the night.

The Trolls will have another week off from matches before heading to Judson University on Oct. 1.
