Box Score The Trinity men's volleyball team competed in a non-conference match as they hosted the Lincoln College Lynx. The Trolls were able to keep a leading during all three sets as they swept the Lynx 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.
Offensively, the Trolls had three players that contributed heavily. Junior Djordje Novakovic and freshman Mark Hernandez both registered nine kills on the outside while sophomore Jake Ostema recorded an impressive .857 hitting percentage (6 kills, 0 errors, 7 attempts). Novakovic also finished with four aces.
Setting up the offense was senior Danny Lawrence, who recorded 35 assists while sophomore Adam Becker controlled the backrow defense with 13 digs. Senior Jon Poortinga also contributed to the stat sheet with six kills, four aces and a team-high four blocks.
The Trolls are now at 3-4 overall and 0-1 in CCAC play. They will play two non-conference games on Saturday, Feb. 1 as they compete in the Trine Triangular. During this event, they will play against Trine University and St. Norbert College. The first match of the day is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
