Box Score The Trinity men's volleyball team was back in the DeVos Gymnasium as they hosted the Judson University Eagles in a CCAC match.
The Trolls and the Eagles were neck and neck at the start of the first and second sets, but Trinity was able to secure a 25-20 win in the first and a 25-23 win in the second. Once the third set began, the Trolls took an early lead and did not let Judson back into the match, winning the third and final set 25-12.
Leading the Trolls on offense was freshman Bart van der Mark and sophomore Jake Ostema. Ostema had a .778 hitting percentage (8 kills, 1 error, 9 attempts) while van der Mark hit .444 with a team-high 11 kills. Helping to set up the offense was senior Danny Lawrence, who finished the night with 34 assists.
On defense, sophomore Adam Becker led the backrow with eight digs. Ostema also grabbed a team-high eight blocks while senior Jon Poortinga finished with four.
The Trolls are now 8-6 overall and 2-3 in CCAC play. They will be back in action again on Friday as they travel to Goshen for a non-conference match. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
