Box Score The Trinity men's volleyball team competed against the Viterbo University V-Hawks. The two teams were tied in the CCAC heading into the match, but after, the Trolls filled the fourth-place spot as they defeated Viterbo.
The Trolls kept the lead throughout all three sets. The V-Hawks attempted to grab come back at various points, but Trinity didn't allow it. The Trolls won 25-17, 25-22 and 25-22.
Leading the offense was freshman Bart van der Mark, recording 11 kills. Junior Djordje Novakovic also contributed double-digit kills with 10. Sophmore Jake Ostema had the highest hitting percentage on the team, hitting .714 (6 kills, 1 error, 7 attempts) on the night.
Controlling the offense was senior Danny Lawrence, who had 31 assists while also grabbing six digs. Sophomore Adam Becker led the backrow defense with 10 digs while Ostema led the front row with eight blocks.
The Trolls now have an overall record of 9-7 and a conference record of 3-3. They will be back in action again on Thursday, Feb. 27 as they travel to Concordia-Chicago for a non-conference game. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
