Box Score The Trinity men's volleyball team traveled down Harlem Avenue to the Concordia University Chicago Cougars for a non-conference match. After taking it to five sets, the Trolls didn't come out with a win.
The first three sets all went into extra points, with Trinity securing one of those three sets. In the fourth, the Trolls were able to secure a 25-17 win before heading into the fifth, in which they lost 13-15 to lose the match 2-3.
Two Trolls finished with double-doubles, and they were senior Danny Lawrence and junior Djordje Novakovic. Lawrence recorded 45 assists along with 12 digs while Novakovic had 15 kills along with 10 digs.
Also helping the Trolls on offense was freshman Bart van der Mark with 13 kills, five blocks and a team-high four aces while senior Jon Poortinga registered 10 kills and three blocks. Leading the team in digs was sophomore Adam Becker with 14 while sophomore Jake Ostema led the team in blocks with six.
The team is now 9-8 overall and still 3-3 in conference play. They will be back in action again on Tuesday, March 3 as they head to St. Ambrose to face the Fighting Bees in a CCAC contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Davenport, Iowa.
