Box Score LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Trinity Christian College men's volleyball team is certainly making an early statement in the 2021 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). The Trolls hit the road on Saturday, Jan. 30 to take on Viterbo University (Wis.) and made the snowy trip home with a straight set victory – 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.
Ryan Schmidt and Nick Mioli combined to run the offensive attack, finishing with 16 and 11 assists, respectively. The duo spread out the wealth as three Trolls – Alex Costa, Djordje Novakovic and Mike Hay, each finished with team-leading seven kills. Jake Ostema was a force at the net defensively, finishing with six blocks, including two solo.

The Trolls (2-1, 2-0) return to the DeVos Center for a Tuesday, Feb. 2 matchup against Roosevelt University (Ill.). While Roosevelt is technically a first-year program, the Trolls went 2-0 last season against Robert Morris University – Illinois, the university that merged with Roosevelt and began competing jointly this season.
