ROSEMONT, Ill. – They hadn't competed in 369 days – not since their season was unexpectedly cut short last spring, but the Trinity Christian College softball team took the field on Tuesday, March 9 and it was obvious they were ready for the new season. The young Trolls team dropped two, one-runs games to Roosevelt University (Ill.), a team that already had 10 games under their belt this season.

In the opener, Sydni Mitchell, Jolie Robertson and Emily Montalvo connected for two hits each. Abby Van Beek three 4.1 innings in relief, striking out eight and allowing no free passes. In the nightcap, Van Beek and Jolie Robertson combined for a seven-inning shut out before the Lakers pushed a run across in the bottom of the eighth inning.
