Box Score 3 CROWN POINT, Ind. – After not knowing if they would be competing in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament just days prior, the 11th seeded Trinity Christian College softball team took full advantage of their season continuing by upsetting the No. 6 seed Calumet College of St. Joseph in game one. The Trolls would then drop a close, one-run game to No. 3 seed Roosevelt before being eliminated by fourth seeded University of St. Francis (Ill.) on day two.
Abby VanBeek would pick up the win in the tournament opener, throwing 4.1 innings and allowing just two hits and no runs. Jolie Robertson and Faith Bruinius each connected for two hits to lead the offense.
The offense would stay hot for the next two games. Carlie Jenkins and Emily Montalvo added two hits each against the Lakers, while Sydni Mitchell added a three-run double. In the final game, Mitchell, Bruinius and Abby VanBeek had two hits each. Jordan Jones would suffer the loss in the circle in both games.
