JOLIET, Ill. – Litzy Corona gave Trinity a first-half lead, but the host St. Francis Saints would score a game-winner in the final minute to steal a 2-1 result over the Trolls on Saturday afternoon.
Corona's goal in the 23rd minute put the Trolls (7-4-4, 6-2-2 CCAC) in front, as she recorded her 10th goal of the year against her former team.
In the second half the Saints (10-4-1, 6-3-1 CCAC) battled back, tying the game in the 72nd minute. Trinity fired six shots on goal in the second half looking for that second goal, but each chance was stopped by the Saints' goalkeeper.
St. Francis would take their first lead of the game in the 90th minute, finding the back of the net with less than 50 seconds left to play.
Trinity will look to bounce back next weekend, when they travel to Roosevelt on Saturday, October 22. Kickoff against the Lakers from Arlington Heights, Ill. is set for 12:00 p.m.
