KISSIMMEE, Fla. – For the second year in a row, Trinity will play in the NCCAA Women's Soccer National Championship semifinals, after securing a 1-1 draw with Oakland City (Ind.) on Wednesday night.
The Trolls (13-5-5) advanced through Pool C after Brianna Uhl's goal in the 12th minute gave Trinity the early 1-0 advantage. The lead was lost just before the halftime break however, with Oakland City (10-5-3) striking for a goal in the 41st minute.
Despite out-shooting the Mighty Oaks by a 21-7 margin in the match, and 17-1 in the second half, Trinity were unable to find the game-winner after the break. Regardless the Trolls were set to advance out of pool play with a draw, winning the group over Oakland City on goal differential.
In a rematch of last year's semifinal match, Trinity will now take on Grace (Ind.) in the national semifinals, set to take place on Friday, December 2 at 1:30 pm CT.
