Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – A pair of close sets went for the visitors, as Trinity suffered a straight-set loss on Saturday afternoon, falling to Judson 26-24, 25-21, 25-16 at DeVos Gymnasium.
The Trolls (1-14, 0-5 CCAC) held set point in the opening game at 24-23, but back-to-back attacking errors and a Judson kill flipped the score in favor of the Eagles (7-8, 2-3 CCAC).
In the second set trailing 21-18, Trinity tied the score with a late rally and scored three straight behind a kill from Dej'a Williams and a Cecilia Zuniga ace. Judson would bounce back, scoring four in a row to take a two-set lead in the match.
Judson would jump out to a big early lead in game three, taking a 9-2 advantage to start the set. The Trolls would play even with their opponents throughout the rest of the set, but were unable to put together a rally in response as the Eagles closed out the match.
Brooke Veldman led the Trolls with nine kills on the day, with a team-leading .250 attack percentage. Emma Dykstra tallied 14 assists with four digs, while Trisha Noonan led the defense with 11 digs.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Thursday night, when they travel to Gary, Ind. and face IU Northwest. First serve with the Redhawks is set for 7:00 p.m.
