Box Score GARY, Ind. – Freshman Dej'a Williams scored a season-high nine kills on Thursday night, but Trinity were unable to take a set in a road loss to Indiana Northwest, 25-16, 25-17, 25-21.
Williams posted the team's highest attack percentage at .217, with the most attempts for the Trolls (1-15, 0-6 CCAC). Emma Dykstra posted a double-double with 14 assists and 10 digs, while Cecilia Zuniga led the defense with 17 digs.
The host Redhawks (9-4, 3-2 CCAC) would lead the first two sets start-to-finish, but the Trolls would battle back in game three. A kill from Taryn Hinken set off a 7-2 run to start the set, but IU Northwest would score six in a row to claim a 8-7 edge. Williams' kill at 8-8 briefly evened the score, but the Redhawks responded with five of the next six points and would lead the rest of the way.
Trinity will regroup and prepare for their return to DeVos Gymnasium, when they host Governors State on Tuesday, September 27. First serve with the Jaguars is set for 7:00 p.m.
