DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Trolls struggled to generate momentum on Saturday afternoon, as the hosts St. Ambrose took a three-set win over Trinity, 25-16, 25-19, 25-13.
Mia Querciagrossa led the way with nine kills on the day, setting a new season high for the freshman. Alexis Bartz collected 21 assists, and Jorieliss Caraballo made nine digs.
The Trolls (5-12, 4-3 CCAC) opened with an early 3-1 lead with a kill from Bartz, but St. Ambrose (10-10, 4-3 CCAC) would take four of the next five points and would hold the lead throughout the rest of the set. The Bees would go wire-to-wire in the second and third games to earn the sweep.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Tuesday night, when they return to DeVos Gymnasium and host Indiana Northwest. First serve with the RedHawks is set for 7:00 p.m.
