PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – A second half goal for the visitors would be enough, as Trinity dropped their first conference game of the season, 1-0 to St. Ambrose.
The loss snaps an eight-match unbeaten streak for the Trolls (10-2-2, 6-1-1 CCAC).
A scoreless first half would see the Bees (9-4, 7-1 CCAC) out-shoot Trinity 16-6, with Kara Amidon and Demi Scibetta each getting shots on goal that would be stopped by the St. Ambrose goalkeeper. Shortly after the halftime break, the Bees would break through with a 52nd-minute goal. The Trolls would get three shots on target after the goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Wednesday, October 18, when they head to Holland, Mich. to take on Hope (Mich.) in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
