CHICAGO, Ill. - Trinity recovered after surrendering a first half goal, as the Trolls secured a draw on the road, 1-1 at Saint Xavier in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon.
The host Cougars (7-3-5 5-3-3 CCAC) struck first in the 30th minute, but Trinity would find the equalizer fifteen minutes later, in the final seconds of the first half. Samantha Wind scored her first goal of the season, taking the assist from Demi Scibetta to even the score.
In the second half, the Trolls (12-3-3, 8-1-2 CCAC) held off 15 shots taken as Saint Xavier controlled possession after the break. Goalkeeper Michelle Urribarri finished the day with 11 saves to help give the Trolls a key point in the CCAC race.
With the draw, the Trolls clinch the No. 2 seed in next week's CCAC Tournament, and will open their postseason run at home with a quarterfinal matchup with Viterbo. In their regular season matchup back on Sept. 27, both sides played to a 2-2 draw.
Kickoff with the V-Hawks is scheduled for 1pm on Saturday, November 4, from the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
