PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Two goals from Kara Amidon put Trinity women's soccer into first place atop the CCAC, as the Trolls pushed their current unbeaten streak to six straight matches with a 4-1 win over Judson, on Tuesday afternoon at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
Leading scorer Demi Scibetta gave the Trolls (8-1-2, 4-0-1 CCAC) the lead, putting away her tenth goal of the season in the 22nd minute. Amidon then doubled Trinity's lead less than five minutes later, scoring on a pass from Scibetta for the 2-0 lead.
Judson (3-4-2, 2-2-1 CCAC) would answer before the end of the first half, as the visitors managed to out-shoot Trinity 13-11 before the break. The Eagles closed the deficit to 2-1 with a goal in the 31st minute, and would take that score into the second half.
Amidon helped to put the game away early after halftime, scoring her second goal in the 58th minute. In the 66th minute, a penalty called on Judson would give Jade Maldonado her first goal of the season for the 4-1 score.
Goalkeeper Michelle Urribarri would make eight saves in the win, facing a total of 22 shots throughout the day.
Currently in a tie atop the CCAC standings, the Trolls will look to keep pace with the league leaders on Saturday afternoon, when they host Governors State for a matchup at Schaaf beginning at noon.
