PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Junior Leilani Murray posted her first double-figure performance as a Troll, as Trinity closed out the 2023 Troll Classic with a home loss to Northwestern (Iowa), 87-54.
Murray finished with 16 points, on 6-of-12 shooting and a 3-for-6 night from beyond the arc for the Trolls (0-2). Hannah Schuringa posted 13 points along with a team-high five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
Trinity fell behind early, as the Red Raiders (2-0) opened the game on a 15-4 run in the first quarter. Trinity recovered throughout the next two quarters, with a pair of threes from Murray in the second, and a seven-point third period from Sedona Anderson.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Monday night, when they host Goshen (Ind.) from DeVos Gymnasium. Tipoff with the Maple Leafs is set for 7:00 p.m.
