Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

ADRIAN, Mich. – After nearly two weeks off, Trinity softball picked up where they left off, winning their fourth and fifth out of their last six games with a doubleheader sweep at Siena Heights. The Trolls took an extra-inning victory, 5-4 in game one before winning a high-scoring 14-10 decision in game two.

The Trolls (9-5) got going early, with Giulia Cianfriglia's double followed by an RBI single from Myleigh Halmon in the top of the 1st. Siena Heights (3-14) took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd with back-to-back RBI doubles, but Trinity rallied in the 3rd, taking advantage of three Saints errors to score twice for a 3-2 lead.

Halmon's third run-scoring at-bat of the game pushed the Trolls' lead to 5-3 in the 5th inning, before Siena Heights came back with runs in the 6th and 7th to force extra innings. In the top of 9th, Angela Abrand would reach scoring position with a walk and stolen base, setting up Cianfriglia for the go-ahead RBI double. Halmon would secure her fifth win of the season and the complete game with a perfect 9th inning.

Halmon and Cianfriglia each finished with three base hits, with Halmon driving in three RBI in the win. The duo kept hitting in game two, going a combined 6-for-9 at the plate, while Charlie Sartoris went 3-for-5 in the nightcap.

Tied 3-3 through an inning and a half, Siena Heights took a strong lead, scoring five runs on four hits in the bottom of the 2nd. Trinity bounced back in the top of the 4th, with an eight-run inning on eight hits and four errors as a total of 13 batters came up to the plate during the rally.

The Trolls added three more in the top of the 6th, giving the visitors enough of a lead to overcome the Saints' runs in the 6th and 7th innings to close out the day.

Cianfriglia went 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBI in the second game. Erin Curtin was 3-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.

The Trolls will look to continue the win streak on Saturday, when they head south to face IUPU-Columbus (Ind.). First pitch on  March 25 is set for noon CT / 1 p.m. ET.
