Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity opened the men's volleyball postseason on Tuesday night, beginning with a straight-set victory over Calumet in the first round of the 2023 CCAC Tournament inside DeVos Gymnasium.
Alex Costa led the way for the Trolls (17-10), scoring a match-high 15 kills in the win, with a .478 attack percentage. Ryan Schmidt picked up 18 assists with three service aces, while Chris Dargan tallied 10 kills at a .500 attack percentage and three blocks. As a team, the Trolls recorded just 13 digs for the night, holding the Crimson Wave (7-8) to an attack percentage of .195.
The Trolls will now prepare for the CCAC Tournament semifinals, held at Saint Xavier on Friday night, March 31. The no. 4 seed in the conference tourney, Trinity will face the hosts and top-seeded Cougars with a spot in the championship match on the line. First serve from Saint Xavier is set for 7:00 p.m.
