DAVENPORT, Iowa – Two school records fell and four more tickets were punched to the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, as Trinity track & field competed at the St. Ambrose Bumble Rumble.
Records Set
• After setting the school record in his collegiate debut last month, freshman sprinter Madison Moriaga improved upon his program-best time in the 60 meters, finishing second with a time of 7.05.
• Sophomore Ivan Emde set a new school record in the men's pole vault after breaking the record in the Trolls season debut earlier this year, placing third after clearing 13' 5.75" (4.11m).
National Qualifiers
• In addition to Moriaga and Emde, who qualified for the NCCAA national meet earlier this season, four other athletes reached the qualifying standard for the first time on Saturday.
• Senior distance runner Milos Pendic won the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:47.2, earning a spot in the NCCAA meet where he will defend his national championship in the event from a year ago.
• Senior sprinter Alyssa Busker will also have the opportunity to defend her NCCAA national title, with her win in the women's 60 meters. Busker posted a time of 7.9 in the prelims, then 7.81 in the final to win the event.
• Sophomore Jordyn Fleener picked up a win in the women's mile run, hitting the NCCAA standard with a time of 5:30.25.
• Freshman distance runner Catrina Farris picked up a win in the women's 3,000 meters in her collegiate debut, finishing in 11:28.54 to qualify for the NCCAA Championship.
• Quinton Boyd hit the NCCAA standard for the second time in as many appearances this season; after setting the school record last month, Boyd reached 45' 10.75" (13.99m) in the men's shot put to place fourth in the event.
Personal Records
• A total of ten personal bests were set throughout the day, including Moriaga in the men's 200 meters (23.77), Trenton Brown with his win in the 600 meters (1:30.29), and Owen Corbly in the weight throw (38' 2", 11.63m).
• On the women's side, Abigail Hoekzema matched her personal best in the high jump, clearing 4' 9" (1.45m).
• Throwers Alexa Velazquez (34' 4.75", 10.48m) and Annika Biel (24' 5.75", 7.46m) each set PRs in the women's shot put.
• Velazquez also hit a new career best in the weight throw, with a mark of 31' 6" (9.60m), while Faith Wyant also set a PR in the event, throwing for 33' 7.5" (10.25m).

• The Trolls will return to Olivet Nazarene next week, when they compete at the ONU Invite on Friday, January 26.
