Trolls go cold in fourth quarter in road loss to RedHawks

GARY, Ind. – Trinity would take a second-half lead on Wednesday night, but a tough-shooting fourth quarter was too much to handle down the stretch, as the Trolls fell 83-61 on the road at Indiana Northwest.

Team Leaders

Sedona Anderson posted a season-high 19 points, going 5-for-8 from three-point range on the night, as three Trolls finished in double figures.

How it Happened

• Anderson's three-pointer at the 5:53 mark of the first half would tie the game at 6-6, but the host RedHawks would score six in a row to move back in front and eventually take a 17-13 lead by the end of the opening period.

• Indiana Northwest would lead by as much as 13 points in the second quarter, with layups from Anderson and Schuringa in the closing minutes keeping things close for the Trolls. The home side would take a 34-23 advantage into the halftime break.

• The Trolls started the second half strong, opening with a 31-point third quarter. A 13-2 run, highlighted by back-to-back threes from Amena Alexander and Anderson, put Trinity in front, 50-46 with 3:05 remaining in the third period.

• The RedHawks responded with eight unanswered, and would take a four-point edge into the fourth quarter, 58-54.

• After Anderson's three at the 9:11 mark that closed the gap to 60-57, the Trolls would go six minutes without a field goal as IU Northwest pulled away to secure the win.
