PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Fighting through a fall rain shower and a scoreless first half, Trinity broke through on Litzy Corona's game-winner to earn a 1-0 victory over Indiana South Bend at the Schaaf Athletic Complex on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite out-shooting their opponents 10-1 before the halftime break, the Trolls were unable to find the back of the net until the 67th minute. With the assist from Liza Gavalova, Corona would score her team-leading eighth goal of the season to give Trinity a 1-0 edge.
Goalkeeper Michelle Urribarri would make one save on the day to record her seventh shutout of the season.
The Trolls will look to extend their unbeaten streak to seven straight matches this weekend, when they travel to St. Ambrose on Saturday evening. Kickoff from Davenport, Iowa is set for 5:00 p.m.
