Women's Soccer advance to NCCAA Regional Final with win over Bethel

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Litzy Corona scored her 10th goal of the season on Wednesday, as the Trolls opened NCCAA play with a 3-0 win over Bethel (Ind.), in the North Central Regional semifinals at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.

Corona put the Trolls in front in the 21st minute, with an assist from Emily Soriaga as Trinity took advantage of a 20th-minute red card issued to the Pilots for a foul on a breakaway. Soriaga then doubled the Trolls' lead in the 38th minute, scoring herself for the second time this year.

Bethel rebounded in the second half, out-shooting Trinity by a 7-6 margin after the break, but with four of her six saves coming in the second half, Michelle Urribarri kept the clean sheet on the day. Madison Tamminga would put the match away with her third goal of the season, in the 85th minute.

With the win, the Trolls advance to the NCCAA North Central Region Final, where they will face top-seeded Judson. Kickoff with the Eagles is set for Wednesday, November 20, at 1:00 p.m.
