BETTENDORF, Iowa – Five Trolls would set personal records, as Trinity Cross Country opened the postseason at the CCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
Both men's and women's squads would finish 7th out of eight in the team standings. Five Trolls would break their career best 6k time in the women's race.
Leading the way for Trinity was Ariadna Juarez, who posted a new best time of 25:12 to finish 35th overall. Freshman Alyssa Seinen placed 47th, with a PR of 25:54.
Junior Maddy Butler (26:27) and sophomore Angelina Calvillo (26:49) would set personal records with 52nd and 55th-place results, respectively. Freshman Jasmine Orozco also set a personal best, finishing in 29:08 for 75th overall.
In the men's 8k race, Trenton Brown was the top finisher for the Trolls, posting a time of 29:11 to finish 67th overall. Freshman Jacob Brower was one place and four seconds behind, while Aitor Mateo and Jesus Portilla were the team's third and fourth finishers with times of 30:09.
