PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Freshman Kyla Smith led the Trolls in scoring for the first time this season, but Trinity Women's Basketball struggled to limit turnovers on Saturday afternoon, falling to Roosevelt 67-41 inside DeVos Gymnasium.
Team Leaders
• Smith posted 11 points on the day, in 29 minutes off the bench on 5-of-11 shooting.
• Hannah Schuringa tallied ten points with five rebounds and two assists.
• Sedona Anderson went 3-for-6 from the floor with a pair of threes, finishing with ten points.
How it Happened
• Desire Berrien got things started, giving the Trolls the early lead with the game's first score. Roosevelt would come back with six straight points in a low-scoring first quarter, before Schuringa's bucket and a pair of free throws from Anderson tied the game at 6-6 at the 3:00 mark.
• The Lakers would finish on a 6-0 run to end the first quarter, then hold the Trolls to just four points throughout the second quarter, building up a 28-12 halftime lead.
• Roosevelt would put the game away early in the second half, opening the third quarter on a 12-0 run to go ahead, 40-12 midway through the period.
