BROOKINGS, S.D. – Two school records fell on Saturday, as the Trolls saw a pair of All-American performances on Saturday at the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Trinity Track & Field secured a total of four entries into the national championship meet, beginning on Thursday night with the Men's Distance Medley Relay. Zac Maher, Kyran Thurmond, Dustin Hudak, and Milos Pendic combined to place fifth in their heat, and 14th overall in the preliminaries with a time of 10:18.9.
Hudak would return on Friday, where he would set a new program record in the 800 meters. The senior placed second in his heat and fourth overall to advance to Saturday's finals with a time of 1:54.15.
Senior sprinter Alyssa Busker competed twice on Friday, first placing 16th in the prelims of the 60 meter dash, covering the distance in 7.63 seconds. Later in the day Busker would advance to the finals of the 200 meters with a third place finish in her heat and a time of 24.47 to lower her own program record in the event.
On Saturday, Hudak and Busker would both pick up NAIA All-American honors with their performances in their respective events. Hudak broke his own Trinity record in the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.88 to place 7th overall, while Busker would finish 8th in the 200 meters in 24.79 seconds.
The Trolls will now prepare for the start of the outdoor season, beginning with the Warrior Invitational, hosted in Milwaukee, Wisc. by Wisconsin Lutheran on Thursday, March 28.
