Trolls shut out Saints to open CCAC slate

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Four different Trolls would find the back of the net, as Trinity Men's Soccer overcame a slow start to secure a 4-0 victory over St. Francis, in the CCAC opener at the Schaaf Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Despite out-shooting the Saints 10-2 before the break, the visitors held on to keep the match scoreless at halftime. In the 55th minute, the Trolls would break the deadlock with a penalty, converted by Daniel Garcia for his third goal of the season.

Three minutes later, freshman Rafael Torres scored his first collegiate goal, with an assist from Georgi Spasov for a 2-0 lead.

Later in the second half, David Hernandez would score his CCAC-leading 7th goal of the year, and Ismael Aguero would put the match away with his second goal this year, coming in the 88th minute.

Giorgos Christodoulou secured the clean sheet, making three saves in the win to record the team's fourth shutout of the year.

Trinity are back in action on Tuesday night, when they travel to Crown Point, Ind. to face Indiana Northwest.
