DAVENPORT, Iowa – Trinity Men's Soccer secured their third straight win on Saturday, holding off a second-half comeback from hosts St. Ambrose, 3-2.
The Trolls would take a 3-0 lead into the halftime break, beginning with Ismael Aguero's third goal in the last three matches, coming in the 36th minute.
In the 43rd minute, Rafael Torres doubled the Trinity lead with this second goal of the season, and less than a minute later, Ivan Perez found the back of the net for his first strike of the year.
The host Bees would respond after the halftime break, getting on the board with a goal less than five minutes into the second half. St. Ambrose would make it a one-goal game in the 67th minute, but Trinity would hold strong over the last half-hour to secure the win.
The Trolls will look for four in a row next week, when they host Olivet Nazarene on Saturday, Oct. 18. Kickoff with the Tigers is set for 3:30 p.m.
