PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity Men's Soccer poured in their highest number of goals this season, as the Trolls celebrated Senior Day with a 12-0 home victory over Calumet on Saturday afternoon at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
After a scoreless 20 minutes to start the day, Trinity collected six goals in a ten-minute stretch, with another strike in the 42nd minute giving the Trolls a 7-0 halftime lead. The second half would see Trinity continue to dominate, with five more goals after the break.
David Hernandez would score his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 25th minute, while four Trolls would record their first goals of the season: Daniel Garcia in the 26th minute, Joao Leonardo (42nd), Vini Sartorello (50th), and Drew Sotok (51st). Sotok would also pick up a second goal moments later, as the only player to pick up two goals in the win.
With the win, the Trolls move into a three-way tie for 4th in the CCAC standings, with Judson and Holy Cross, with two games left in the regular season. Next up for Trinity is a trip to Viterbo, on Tuesday; kickoff with the V-Hawks is set for 1:00 p.m.
