PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Rain McDaniel scored 33 in her Trinity debut, but a scoring drought in the fourth quarter would sink the Trolls in the season opener on Saturday, falling to Michigan-Dearborn 79-62.
McDaniel went 14-for-17 from the floor, and 2-for-3 from three-point range to lead Trinity, while two other players would finish in double figures in their first appearances as Trolls. Destiney Cox scored 13 points, and Adrianna De La Rosa contributed 12 points on the day.
The Trolls will look to bounce back in two weeks, when they travel to Clarke (Iowa) for a matchup with the Pride on November 4. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
