CROWN POINT, Ind. – In their first meeting since last year's CCAC Tournament Final, Trinity would pour in four goals in the first half on their way to a 5-0 win over Governors State on Friday night.
The Trolls would strike first in the 14th minute, on Diego Martin's third goal of the season. Trinity then broke out for three scores in a seven-minute stretch, with Ismael Aguero scoring in the 35th minute, Rafael Alonso in the 39th, and David Hernandez in the 42nd.
Out-shooting the Jaguars by a 26-10 margin on the night, Trinity would add in one more late in the second half, with Diego Millas scoring in the 86th minute.
Goalkeeper Samuel Negus would make two saves to record his 3rd shutout win of the season.
With the win, the Trolls secure the No. 5 seed in next week's CCAC Tournament. Trinity will open the postseason on Wednesday, with a trip to 4-seed Holy Cross.
