PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity Men's Basketball picked up their first win of the early season, defeating Clarke (Iowa) 96-79 inside DeVos Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
Brandon Adorno led the offense for the second game in a row, finishing with a team-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Jaidan Gilzene came off the bench for 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while Garrett Green finished with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
The Trolls would use a run of 21 unanswered points midway through the first half to build a 22-point advantage, going up 33-11 on a layup from Greene at the 8:10 mark. The visiting Pride would trim back some of the deficit before the end of the half, with a late bucket from Wandy Munoz giving Trinity a 45-38 lead going into the break.
Trinity would lead the second half start to finish, going up by as much as 19 points on Munoz's layup with 7:24 remaining.
Trinity now prepares for their exhibition matchup against Division I Miami (Ohio) on Friday, Nov. 7. Tipoff with the Redhawks is set for 6:30 p.m.
