PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – After a hard-fought opening set, Trinity were unable to keep pace with the offensive attack on the other side of the net, as the Trolls would fall in straight sets to Wabash (Ind.) on Friday night inside DeVos Gymnasium 26-24, 25-17, 25-17.

The visitors would post an attack percentage over .650 for both second and third sets to secure the sweep, after Trinity nearly took the opener. Trinity held a small lead throughout most of the first set, until a three-point rally by the Little Giants made it a 19-18 Wabash advantage. The Trolls moved back in front at 21-20 on a kill from Brendan Rushton, and would hold serve at 24-24, but Wabash would take the final two points to win the set.

After Austin Risser's kill tied the score at 5-5 early in game two, Wabash would respond with four of the next five points, and would lead the rest of the way. A six-point run later in the set turned a one-point advantage into a 19-12 lead for the visitors en route to the win.

Game three was much closer, with neither side taking more than a two-point lead midway through the set. Wabash would pull away with eight unanswered points to go in front, 22-13 and close out the match shortly after.

Risser led the Trolls with nine kills on the night, along with two aces and four digs. Caden Figus tallied 15 assists with four digs, and Zach Supanich registered seven kills with a .375 hitting percentage, two aces, and three digs.

The Trolls now prepare for the start of conference play, beginning on Monday night with a trip to No. 2 Saint Xavier. Tipoff with the Cougars is set for 7:00 p.m.
