PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – A goal late in the first half put Trinity on the back foot, and another after the break sealed the result, as the Trolls fell 2-0 in the 2025 season opener on Thursday evening at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
The visitors (1-0) went in front in the 38th minute after out-shooting Trinity 12-0 before halftime and holding a 5-0 edge in corners.
An insurance tally in the 76th minute closed out the scoring, as the Trolls (0-1) were limited to two second-half shots, including one on goal from Maddie Boogerd.
Michelle Urribarri made six first-half saves and finished with six overall in the loss.
Trinity will look to bounce back on Tuesday, Aug. 26, when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., to face Cornerstone. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
