ADRIAN, Mich. – Senior hitter Dej'a Williams would be named to the Siena Heights Labor Day Invite All-Tournament Team, as the Trolls closed out their visit to Michigan on Saturday with matchups against Spring Arbor (Mich.) and Lawrence Tech (Mich.)
Trinity would take the opening set over Spring Arbor, 25-23, by overcoming an early 10-1 deficit at the start of the match. Trailing 20-16, the Trolls would score nine of the next 12 points to come back and take the opener.
The Cougars took control the rest of the way, winning the next three sets 25-12, 25-12, 25-15. Sarah Neighbors led Trinity with seven kills and six digs, while Sharide Sykes picked up six kills along with 15 assists.
In the second match of the day, the Trolls would fall 25-14 in the first set with Lawrence Tech, but would battle back in two close sets, 25-22 and 25-23.
Williams recorded ten kills, while Alexis Bartz tallied 17 assists.
The Trolls return home next week, when they open CCAC play on Wednesday night against Olivet Nazarene. First serve with the Tigers from DeVos Gymnasium is set for 7:00 p.m.
