PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity Women's Soccer would open the conference slate with a tough loss on Wednesday, as the Trolls dropped their CCAC opener to St. Francis, 4-0 at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
Trinity would fire seven shots on goal throughout the match, with three from Grace Wieneke to pace the team, but were held off the scoreboard. St. Francis first broke through in the 22nd minute with their first goal of the day, and took a 1-0 lead into the end of the first half.
The visitors would pull away in the second, scoring again in the 51st and 61st minutes for a 3-0 lead. In the 82nd, the Saints would draw a penalty to collect their fourth goal of the day.
Trinity will look to bounce back on Saturday, when they travel to CCAC newcomers Mount Mary. Kickoff with the Blue Angels is set for 1:30 p.m.
