MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Five different Trolls would score as Trinity Women's Soccer picked up a dominant road win on Saturday, 5-0 over CCAC newcomers Mount Mary.
The Trolls would strike first in the 12th minute when Renee Vander Tuig scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Nerea Genc. Trinity then quickly put the match out of reach, when they scored three goals in under 100 seconds; Tea Sandoval and Madison Tamminga both scored in the 22nd minute, while Grace Wieneke added her team-leading third goal of the season in the 23rd.
Trinity controlled possession throughout the day, out-shooting the Blue Angels 30-1, including a 14-1 margin on shots on goal.
In the second half, Hadley Vander Bent scored her first career goal to give the Trolls a 5-0 lead in the 61st minute.
The five-goal performance was the first for the Trolls in nearly a calendar year, since a 10-0 win over Calumet on Sept. 28 of last season.
Trinity will look to keep the momentum into next week, beginning on Tuesday afternoon when the Trolls host Saint Xavier. Kickoff from the Schaaf Athletic Complex on Sept. 23 is set for 4:00 p.m.
