PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Five players finished in double figures, as Trinity Volleyball picked up their third win of their last four matches, defeating Indiana Northwest in four sets inside DeVos Gymnasium on Thursday night.
The Trolls nearly had a sweep on the night, but would drop the opening set 26-24. After a 25-16 response in game two, Trinity would play the longest set the program has seen in the 25-point era (2008), holding off five set points to win, 36-34.
Game four would move a little quicker, as the Trolls scored 12 of the final 16 points to take a 25-19 win and close out the match.
Sharide Sykes led the way with her second triple-double of the season, recording 16 kills, 23 assists, and 21 digs. Sarah Neighbors tallied a game-high 18 kills with 15 digs, and Alexis Bartz recorded 37 assists with 13 digs. Raimey Owens had a double-double as well with ten kills and ten digs, while Jorieliss Caraballo led the defense with 21 digs.
The Trolls will look to continue the win streak on Tuesday, when they travel to Milwaukee to face CCAC newcomers Mount Mary. Tipoff with the Blue Angels is set for 7:00 p.m.
