Trolls Men's Basketball Defeats (RV) Olivet Nazarene For First Time Since 2016

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Trinity Christian College men's basketball team picked up a major Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory Wednesday, Jan. 21, as the Trolls defeated (RV) and CCAC leader Olivet Nazarene 85-66 at DeVos Gymnasium. It marked Trinity Christian's first win over the Tigers since Nov. 16, 2016.

Trinity Christian jumped out to an early 8-2 lead after Tylan Harris knocked down a 3-pointer and never looked back. The Trolls never trailed in the contest, which was tied only twice — at 15-15 and 23-23.

Brandon Adorno knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to make it 29-23 in favor of TCC with 8:16 remaining before halftime.

The Trolls went into the break ahead 46-35. Ognjen Petkovic and Aiden Cilladi opened the second half with baskets, extending the lead to 51-35.

Adorno gave the Trolls one of their largest leads of the night, pushing the margin to 18 points at 61-43 with under 15 minutes to play. Olivet Nazarene fought back to cut the deficit to nine with under 10 minutes remaining, but Trinity responded immediately.

Trinity closed out the game with a basket by Jaidan Gilzene to seal the 85-66 victory.

Four players reached double figures. Adorno recorded 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Cilladi finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, along with four steals. Harris scored 15 points, and Garrett Greene added 11.
