FLORIDA — The Trinity Christian softball team concluded its 2026 Florida Spring Trip as the Trolls competed in four games Thursday (March 12) and Friday (March 13). Trinity Christian is now 5-11 on the season.
GAME 1: Northwestern Ohio 4, Trinity Christian 1
UNOH struck first in the opening inning with a pair of runs for an early 2-0 lead. The Racers added two more runs in the second inning to extend their advantage to 4-0.
Trinity Christian was held off the scoreboard until the seventh inning. Ashley Plapp drove home Sophia Loza with an RBI single to make it 4-1, but that score would hold.
GAME 2: Defiance 4, Trinity Christian 2
Defiance scored first with runs in the first and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Trolls got one back in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Yellow Jackets added two more runs in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 4-1. Trinity Christian responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning, but that was the last time the Trolls scored.
GAME 3: Aquinas 6, Trinity Christian 4
The Saints jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after scoring three runs in the first inning. Trinity Christian responded to tie the contest at 3-3.
Alana Harlow ripped an RBI triple to right-center field, scoring Peyton Lowden to make it 3-1. Lauren Packard followed with a two-run double to right-center, scoring Ariana Ikis and Jessica Pleckham to tie the game.
The Saints answered with three runs in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 6-3. The Trolls scored once more after Harlow reached on a fielder's choice, allowing Packard to score and make it 6-4.
GAME 4: Cornerstone 12, Trinity Christian 4 (6 innings)
Cornerstone jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first inning after scoring seven runs in the frame. Trinity Christian answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Alexa Chapman reached on an error, scoring Pleckham. Lowden later walked with the bases loaded to drive in Ikis, and Ashley Plapp scored on a wild pitch.
The Eagles scored five unanswered runs — three in the third inning and two in the fifth — to extend the lead to 12-3. The Trolls added one more run in the bottom of the sixth when Pleckham drove home Harlow with an RBI single.

Trinity Christian resumes action Friday, March 20, for its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener at home against the University of St. Francis (Ill.) at 3 p.m. CT.
