BOURBONNAIS, Ill. & PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. -- The Trinity Christian College softball team took on Olivet Nazarene in a three-game series Tuesday (April 7) and Wednesday (April 8). The Tigers won two of the three contests in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

GAME 1: Olivet Nazarene 9, Trinity Christian 1
Olivet Nazarene struck first with two runs in the opening inning to take an early 2-0 lead. Trinity Christian responded in the second inning when
Alexa Chapman reached on an error, allowing Lauren Packard to score and cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Tigers took control from there, scoring seven unanswered runs to extend their lead to 9-1, which would hold as the final.
Halie LaGrange led the Trolls at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2.
GAME 2: Olivet Nazarene 6, Trinity Christian 4
Both teams were scoreless through the first two innings before Olivet Nazarene broke through with four runs in the third to take a 4-0 lead.
The Trolls answered in the fourth as Packard delivered an RBI single to score Jessica Pleckham and make it 4-1. The Tigers responded with a run of their own in the bottom half to extend the lead to 5-1.
Trinity Christian chipped away in the sixth inning with two runs. Caitlin Hernandez drove in LaGrange with an RBI single, and LaGrange later scored on an RBI single from Anna Lisa Fluder to cut the deficit to 5-3.
ONU added an insurance run in the sixth to make it 6-3. The Trolls attempted a comeback in the seventh when Packard ripped an RBI double to left, but the rally fell short as the Tigers held on for the 6-4 win.
GAME 3: Trinity Christian 2, Olivet Nazarene 0
After a scoreless first inning, Trinity Christian got on the board in the second when
Halie LaGrange reached on a fielder's choice, bringing home
Alexa Chapman for a 1-0 lead.
The Trolls added another run in the fourth as LaGrange delivered an RBI double to score Packard and extend the lead to 2-0.
Peyton Lowden (4-12) was dominant in the circle, tossing a complete game shutout. She allowed just four hits while walking one and striking out four over seven innings.
